Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

Hi all, With all these new hover cars hovering around, one may say there is room for a tow truck (are you really sure your car is reliable?). (URL) Post moderation : (URL) PLMKWYT! Cheers, JP. (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Cool! It's got quite a unique shape - stout and brutish, suggestive of strength like a tow truck should be. The grey is applied really well, and the orange stripes liven up the front beautifully. Overall I love it, and I think it's almost (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) D'oh! And I forgot to mention how awesome that windscreen-and-roof design is! I wish we could edit our posts :-( Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Oh yes, editable posts would be great! Or a function to add something to a post like on ebay. But actually I want to say something about the truck, to: I agree with everything Paul has set. It's an outstanding moc, like all the other little (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Well, JP, this is up to your usual standard. It has a real 'tug-boat meets Mack truck' feel to it. The running boards are cool and really contribute to both the tug and the truck qualities. I like the bottom detail with the 3x12 wedges. (I'm (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) This is pretty awesome. I really like the bulkyness of the shape and there are some great little details on this thing, like the running boards on the side. I think the hook is a good design, it's nice and bulky, very fitting, though I do (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Editing? (was Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck )

(...) Ah, but that would enable us to go back in time and re-write history. If you edited your post, then I would have to edit my post etc. Soon we would be so busy polishing up the past, we would have no time to build or post anything new... "I (...)   Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) JP, this is awesome! It's big and meaty and powerful, but has just a touch of cartoonyness (is that a word?) to it. Really sweet using the Bionicle bits for the tail end. And that windshield configuration! Gives me warm fuzzies. :-) (URL) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

Thanks Paul! I agree with you on the Bionicle parts used for the crane : a little bit big. I didn't take more time to improve it, I was too lazy and thought using only 2 parts was quite a satisfying solution :-) I will try to update it with a more (...)   Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Ah no ah no! We said no weapons! (...) Yep, too bad Lego does not produce any steering device with coordinate deco on it! (...) Thanks Prof! Peace and stylish-fur-in-ze-car! JP. (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Thanks Daniel! About the use of the hook, you're right, I am not so sure it could be used with any of the hover car already presented for this contest... I tryed with my SRF, it works. But not with Barchetta for instance. I can't use magnet (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Oh did I forget to mention that? Two services in one : as we tow your car, we also change a little (improve of course) its painting, making it looking subtly darker in the front end. (...) You already have it! (URL). It's also accessible form (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Civilian MOC Contest : Tow Truck

(...) Thanks Chris! I am happy you find it cartoonish : I like when MOCs have a caricatural style, just like the minifigs we use in it. Cheers, JP. (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
