Ah, but that would enable us to go back in time and re-write history. If you edited your post, then I would have to edit my post etc. Soon we would be so busy polishing up the past, we would have no time to build or post anything new... “I never said that” ... civilization breaks down...anarchy ensues... anarchy wins!

But, I would miss those opportunities for humour... wouldn’t you?

Well, at least we have the opportunity to edit and add things before we post... if we choose to do so. (tho somr dont seem to bither tryng ;-)
