Very nice model, and I know exactly what you mean about slender pylons and heavy nacelles. The Classic Trek movie Enterprise has always been my favorite iteration of the ship. I dearly wish I still had my South Bend electronic Enterprise toy that was reconfigurable. Remember that one? Check out this link if you don’t, awesome toy, and very hard to find:

Thanks, BTW, we share an affinity for the same ship, the Motion Picture Enterprise is still a fantastic vessel. About the electronic Enterprise. I must admit that I came pretty late to the whole Sci-Fi scene, only one of the disadvantages of living in The Netherlands. There really is no big fanbase for Science Fiction or Fantasy, so there aren’t a lot of people who you can talk to about it, ergo, the availability of SF/Fantasy toys was minor when I was a little kid. To cut a long story short, I had never even seen it, until now. Nice!! Things are improving though and I now have most model kits that are out there. (what I really want are accurate models of every ship that has ever been used in every SF movie/tv show ever, incl. animation. All the same scale ofcourse, for comparison. Like that’s ever gonna happen!!! :-( )

Hi Dirk and Dave,

If you’re interested in a cool Enterprise model, I can heartily recommend Bandai’s Enterprise model:

They’re right about the colour scheme, it is more subtle than in the photos. Their Enterprise-E is good too, although the colour scheme isn’t as subtle as the older Enterprise.

Cheers,

(...) Hello Paul, Nice model, no paint or glue would save a lot of time in constructing the ship. But I really want to thank you for the link to the shop. They've got some nice stuff in there. I know someone who could be quite interrested in several (...) (21 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
