Hello everybody

Well I've finally decided to join the Lugnet community after lurking (1) for a
couple of years. It's been fun and inspiring and informative reading posts and
viewing the diversity of MOCs out there. I feel as if I know many of you, so now
you can get to know me if you wish. You've made me laugh and hit my jaw on the
table so many times, I hope that I can return the favour. (yes, that's Canadian
spelling. Ha Ha!)

I thought I was a .castle guy (it was the proliferation of castle parts in the
Harry Potter sets that brought me back to the toy aisle after all), but it turns
out that I'm quite .spaced also. So, here is the first MOC  I've chosen to
share. (I say first, so you may expect a glut of MOCs as I photograph and post
them)

The Sweeper is a "satellite" for keeping the airwaves clean. Using 'really very
smart' technology to trace ‘dirty' transmissions to the source and then "deal
with them". Oh yeah, it's a seed part moc. (no, not the brooms, silly, it's
January, so it must be the 5-stud Part #4733)

I was hoping the broom would show up as a seed part, but I couldn't wait, and it
does contain January's seed part. And just 20 pieces... so there are no pictures
of the interior;-)

On a more somber note. I was quite choked about Travis. Even though I never
communicated with him, I felt that I knew him. I always enjoyed his humour and
his creativity. While I read the many responses to the sad news, I pulled out
one of the 5-stud bricks and came up with the base which sat on my desk until a
few days ago, when I pulled out my box of flames and knew what I had made the
base for. I thought that others might like to play with the idea, as the parts
are readily available and adaptable. Thats a -4274 Technic Pin 1/2- making the
sixth connection possible. The bowl uses standard gravity to keep it there, so
it's very fragile (as are we all)

Well, enjoy and PLMKWYT

Best to all,
Ley

(1) I really don't like the term 'lurking'. It's not like I've been hanging
around outside your house or following Keith's mom or anything. Sheesh!

(...) Lurking is a perfectly acceptable activity. You just need to make sure Keith's mom knows you're someone who knows him so she asks him lots of questions about his "creepy friend who's always lurking around." Your Lord and Master, 3GA (URL) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) SNIP Welcome aboard! the 'sweeper': nice simple use of pieces & great whimsey factor- the skull-ification in the other posts is funny too. cool. By 'dirty' messages, does that mean a 5-stud piece creation cleans up 4-letter words ;) ? (...) (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-04, to lugnet.space)
