I don't know if having a Master's in Mathematics qualifies me as a
'proper mathematician', but I will confirm that yes, this could
techincally be referred to as a 27X model...
But I think a 3X reference is equally valid (it's more a matter of
semantics than mathematics -- if I said that your body doubled in 'size'
would you take that to mean you are twice as tall? twice as heavy? twice
as wide?... I figured for most people '3x' would be the more accessible
multiplier).
