New MOC: The FlyGill —Nathan Wells
Hi all, Inspired by Bruce Lowell's (URL), I've built a craft similar in shape and design, but much smaller! The FlyGill: (2 URLs) Main Folder> PLMKWYT and don't be afraid to criticize. (URL) (21 years ago, 12-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Mark Sandlin
(...) I like what you have done with the windshields. The side greebles look good. I don't think the rear dish serves this particular MOC well. It just looks kind of tacked-on. The black thingy on the top also doesn't flow. If you wanted a fin up (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Nathan Wells
(...) Thanks, I was trying to get a copter look. (...) Well, I was basing the ship on Bruce's design. (...) I only added that to balance the black landing skid at the bottom. It also looked like a fin of a fish. (...) Yeah, that's one of my favorite (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Bruce Lowell
(...) I'm agree with Mark here. The windshield is cool, and the greeblies work well. The radar, it seems to me, would work better if it was bigger and had more meat to it. Keep it up! -Bruce (URL) LEGO @ Bruce's Homepage> (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Well I think you nailed the basic form at the smaller scale very well. (...) My only suggestion would be either put a fig with helmet or make the cockpit enclosed. Or is this supposed to be a speeder or something? -Mike Petrucelli (URL) (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Nathan Wells
(...) Thanks. (...) It's a military vehicle. (yikes, I see what you mean - that pilot needs some serious armor!) (URL) (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Leonard Hoffman
(...) I think you've got something interesting here. Especially the use of the windscreens. However, I think it is too flimsy to be a convincing war machine. First the pilot is totally unprotected, and second, the whole thing looks like one good (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Nathan Wells
     (...) Hmmmm...you've got a point. (...) Hey, that's a cool idea! (...) yeah, it's pretty bad. :) (...) Thanks! (URL) (21 years ago, 14-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —John Henry Kruer
(...) I like the cockpit idea, but not much else. I think the fin can be removed, as well as the side greeblies- a stripped-down, 'cleaner' version would work better. Still, keep it up Mr. Wells... (2 URLs) >> (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Nathan Wells
(...) The reason I added the side greebles was the striped-down version looked like the FlyGill had been caught in the middle of an two-way collision between some SUVs. (...) Thanks! (URL) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Anne Carasik
Hi Nathan, Here are my thoughts on this. (URL) Main Folder> PLMKWYT and don't be afraid to criticize. I like the overall flow, although it looks like it may need some wings for stability. Also, the cockpit seems to be really open, especially for a (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Nathan Wells
(...) I tried it, and it didn't look right to me. (...) Yeah, I know. I realized the problem after I posted. (...) Thanks! (URL) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: New MOC: The FlyGill —Gil Shaw
(...) (URL) I quite like the name. ;) The model looks like an interesting start to me. It looks as if you've developed the shape and scale you want to go with and are now in the process of polishing it up using some of the suggestions made upthread. (...)
