Hey I like it. If you want my personal opinion, big boxes rule! :) In fact,
I have a 30 pound monstrosity that I have yet to photograph, due to the
complexity of getting it in and out of my room.
Here are my tips on cheaply reducing the boxiness of a big-box-type ship (if
one's Lego hobby were well-funded, one likely wouldn't be building a big-box
ship in the first place :) ). Add a large superstructure and many antennae,
also, overhanging pieces of hull work well. I've found that an overhanging
superstructure is very cheap to build, and very effective at reducing the
boxiness of a vessel. Think of an H shape on its side.
The manner in which you engineered the basic structure of the vessel is
superb. In my huge ships, I often use that honeycomb structure combined with
baseplates, albeit much more poorly, due to my lack of 2*x pieces.
I'm sure I'll thoroughly enjoy the completed vessel. Keep building, and good
luck.
