  Moonbase Defense Module

Due to the growing reports of sentient Fleebnorks I thought it might be wise to develope defense modules for moonbase. You never know when an alien race might come along lookin for trouble. I've been a little rushed the past few days so it didn't (...) (21 years ago, 26-Feb-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

(...) Awesome. I really dig the large gun on a lift. Our moonbase is now a lot safer. ~Grand Admiral (21 years ago, 26-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

(...) I disagree that it needs more greeblis on it. I think it looks awesome just the way it is. Maybe it is just me, but I think military anything should have a minimum amount of greeblies. I mean after all you can't really call something heavily (...) (21 years ago, 26-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

(...) ok, this rocks. absolutely. The platform gun, the corner turrets (that I can see totally rippin' them fleebs ta bits), stark simplicity of the design makes it look military. As to the lack of greeblies... well you don't want to give the fleebs (...) (21 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

(...) Definitely has the heavily-fortified look down pat. Nice lower turrets & big top gun. Jeff (21 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

(...) It looks great. It's a shame that it's already slated for decommissioning. In this pic: (URL) the rubber band hold the cannon/rocket launcher up? Jeff J (21 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

Great MOC Jamie! I am surprised nobody has done this before now. Since the Fleebnorks have become such a threat, will they be sending Pope and his gang to eradicate them? One other question. What is the vertical piece behind this guy? (URL) M. (21 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Thanks Duane. How in the heck could you tell from that angle? Is there a better shot that I didn't notice? Mark M. (...) (21 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Whups. I didn't even notice it in that pic. Thanks again, Mark M. (who will be working on his observation skills) (...) (21 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

Thanks G.A. The elevator was inspired by the little minifig elevator you had on you landing platform module. I was going to mention that but forgot too. Jamie www.ozbricks.com/jneufeld (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

Thanks Mike. Maybe your right about the lack of greeblies. I just thought it was a little bland and wanted to add a tad bit more eye candy. I like the three also. I was either that or a 4. Jamie www.ozbricks.com/jneufeld (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

Thanks Chris. The lower guns remind me of the drone guns in Aliens (seen only in the special edition version). The large Gun could have been done a little better. The good news is that it didn't make it to the scrap heap. I packed it up and it will (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

(...) Thanks Jeff. Actually it's still together. We'll see what happens after the move. (...) Yes it does. But anymore weight and it wouldn't. I built it in a hurry so it could be built a little more efficently if I had a bit more time. Jamie (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Defense Module

BLAM!! Great stuff as usual Jamie. I really like where the barrels of the main battery ended up...th spoked wheels work really well here. Another area I thought was great is the levering used to raise the platform...the smoothness of the lever and (...) (21 years ago, 3-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)
