    Moonbase Suggestion —Eric Sophie
Hey all, I had a thought, but first a big congrats to ALL on the Moonbase Projects. Was it Jon Palmer who first suggested it? Anyway, it turned out great, and continues to bring us together. Ok here's my thought, what if there was a way to take a (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Well sorta. Jon Palmer was just one of the people in the roundtable that talked about and then decided on the standard. (...) Actually Ken Koleda suggested something really similar to this on MichLUG's list a few weeks ago. His suggestion was (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

In lugnet.space, Jason Spears writes: (snip) (...) The standardized pictures could be cool to set up a website with a 'composite' image of the modules. A table could be set up to insert the photos into (hence the composite), so a grid wold be (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Well, no, actually you are referring to an object file. That's pretty easy to do with the five angles you mention. The sticking point is that the distance of the module has to be the same as it is being rotated. Also, the more pictures taked (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Moonbase Suggestion —Tom Sciortino
I think we should have them all in cad, and then setup a 3D virtual tour of the moonbase, but that's just me. ;) Perhaps some Computer Science guy out there looking for one heck of a senior project could find a way to turn ldraw dat's into a 3d (...)      (...) This is a great idea! It seems to me that everyone would have to take a picture from the same height, and that the same size picures would have to be used. Perhaps we could put the display up on www.calssic-space.com, and have each square (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)
