  Re: Fighter from Starship Troopers

(...) Interesting craft Jim. I'm afraid my memory of the fighters fron Starship Trooper is pretty thin, but from what I remember the ships were of a very industrial nature...a lot of hard edges, jutting fins etc. Your model has all these attributes (...)   Re: Manta Airspeeder

(...) I like it!! Looks so dark and menacing. I'd love to see what the underside looks like....appears to have engines mounted under the dishes. The only suggestion I might put forward is to smooth out the area behind the cockpit a bit...perhaps (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space)

  Re: Black Jack... 3?

(...) Right on Felix....translates beautifully to microscale. Very clever use of the 1x2 roof gable brick to form the phalanges on the cockpit. Suddenly your stated aspiration of building a microfig scale Defiant is becoming a lot more (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Available sets for building .SPACE

(...) I find that a few of the HP sets have some decent parts, but the motherload of useful thingies comes from the Snowspeeder/AT-ST pack. Tons of useful parts in there, without even a single useless piece. And all of it is in grey, perfect for (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: the second creation from the planet skittles [were everything tastes of the rainbow]

i decided to shorten my craft a bit so now it dosnt have the escape pod, but oh well also the weapons coverage is much better now (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Mech Buster party of three you table is ready

(...) Well you know, I haven't had a decent egg sandwhich since it started cooking. It can pour a mean drink. Wait till you see it tipping the suds at Brick Fest 03/ Bricks West 04. AND NORTHWEST BRICK CON!!!!!!! Whoooo hoooooo! SeaLUG here we come. (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

Re: Mech Buster party of three you table is ready

(...) Thanks for all your comments. I'm glad you noticed the sensor arrays, I put some time and thought into them. So often those are the kind of details that are overlooked. The "Ordanance Ant" was the last moc built for this project. Truthfully, I (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

Re: Mech Buster party of three you table is ready

(...) Thanks for the response Eric. Your comments are greatly appreciated. Have you got "Jamo" programmed to take out the trash or cook dinner yet? Ryan (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: Set Phasers on... BUILD

(...) Nice one! I can just hear Kirk now: "we come in peace, shoot to kill, shoot to kill, shoot to kill..." Cheers, Paul (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Mech Buster party of three you table is ready

(...) MMMMM - Mmmmm!!!! There is a wonderful range of features in your diorama. (Playability A+++) The support vehicles are great (but an insect mecha weapons loader???) and the vtols have a nice lean look to them. I like your antenna cluster too, (...)   Re: The best thing to ever happen to lego...

(...) I don't know about you, but when I consider the idea generalised to be an "expandable curved slope system" (which it is already to some extent), I begin to get rather excited! Cheers, Paul (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: PCS Rocket Launcher

(...) Well, it's a very cool model Jamie... but I'm a little disappointed that it isn't articulated like the original, or have a swivelling control turret. But then, I'm extremely nostalgic about this set as it was the very first CS set I ever (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Black Jack... 3?

(...) Good question. I basically told myself 4 studs x4 studs mini-fig scale= 1 stud x 1 stud micro scale. That seemed about right. (...) I know exactly what you mean. I'm a sucker for micro now. Thanks for the kind words. (URL) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Kemuel?

(...) My associate Keith Goldman brought your work to my attention. I really like the unique configuration of this ship, especially the long keel. If I may presume, the bottom of the keel perhaps could use some inverse slopes or 1/2 cylinder bricks (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Black Jack... 3?

(...) That's looking real tasty. Yeah, the different-size dishes are what got me into microfig too... ;-) So what's the scale difference? I found that the dishes sort of suggested about 1/8 minifig scale. I was once a bit of a sceptic, but I tells (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: the second creation from the planet skittles [were everything tastes of the rainbow]

(...) Heh! "Planet Skittles", I like it. Sounds more space-y than "rainbow warrior", it could be our new colloquialism. "Oooh dunno, looks a bit too Planet Skittles to me..." (...) Wow! I didn't know you could fit a minifig in those. Good idea! (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

  Manta Airspeeder

Check out our latest MOC from our homepage, Manta Airspeeder; (URL) have been in the Speeder Chase diorama but I didn't have the pieces to build it. The design was based from an AOTC book which had concept art drawings of an airspeeder that looked (...)   Re: Fighter from Starship Troopers

(...) Really bold approach doing this fighter. I like it alot. -Rick (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) I don't think I am. :-) I'm not saying that the end result of a 2x-downsampled 10x digital zoom will look any better in 24-bit color than a native 5x optical zoom would look in 24-bit color. It won't. What I'm saying is that a 2x-downsampled (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: The best thing to ever happen to lego...

(...) They are apparently also available in set (URL) #10028 Level Crossing>. Sources say it'll be $50 for 325 pieces. Also, I think 10028 has better pieces for space creations ((URL) see here>) Hope this helps, (URL) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
