Re: AT-FT - All Terrain Field Transport

Thankye! I had originally set out make this a large artillery piece with the platform encasing a large weapon of some sort with a slight offset to the other side. This would have balanced it a litle better, but it was not to be :) Not being a mecha (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.mecha)

Robbie - the latest in mining technology

Announcing the latest technology in autonomous mining - Robbie. The concept is based off of Johnny 5 from "Short Circuit" in the mid '80's and the Spy-Bot set, also from the mid '80's. (URL) features articulated shoulders, elbows and wrists for (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: AT-FT - All Terrain Field Transport

You got it.... a bulldog was invovled in the inspiration! The troop platform of the Normandy landers does have an influence here as well. I played with a deployable ramp, but it didn't work with the shape of it and the working of the legs. The (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

(...) Thanks dude (for everything but the cursin') Those ball sockets (the 12 year old boy in my is giggling) are really swift. They look like the bell on some Apollo era thruster or something. They were fun to use, and made connecting them fun (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

(...) Thanks so much! The windows are fun to work with, but difficult to attach and make sturdy. This one crumbled many times and I was crawlin' around on the floor pickin' up the pieces. Now it's very solid. It attaches with a pin on the front. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: AT-FT - All Terrain Field Transport

Thanks Andrew...I was hoping to get the SW feel to it. Wish I had the skills/hardware to render a version for a dioramma. Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

Hi Chris, Nice work. This is more along the lines of the stuff I want to work on. I'm really impressed by it. The one that impresses me the most is the LL-818. Very nice. :) I really like the white theme for it-- I'd like to see how some of it (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

(...) Very inspiring, Chris. But I wonder- what did the pre-classic era do for land vehicles? It would be interesting to see what preceded the alien moon stalker and such. Any plans? Felix (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: A few new bots... and a bit more

That first bot is just right on....so spindly! The adventures of your happy misfits is hopefully the first in a series :) I gotta say....I REALLY dig the job you've done with Jane's ship. It's like a mini ISD! The shape is great and the engine (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

I curse you for how awesome this looks Chris ;) This totally hit the mark for the 'tween theme. As soon as I saw those ball sockets in the Ep II sets I thought 'rocket nozzle'. Looks like you thought the same and employeed them in a most excellent (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

Chris, I really like this. That window works perfectly. Other nice details are the hatch with built in ladder and the use of those ball turret pieces as engines. Bruce (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Pre - Classic Space rears it's ugly head again

Hi all, The first of the 2003 lineup is the HopLab. (URL) is a quick hop lander with mobile lab and scanning equipment.   Re: Prototype Destroyer

(...) oops. totally missed that picture. (URL) was comparing it in the pic next to the couch (but obviously a love seat). 4.5 ft x 12 = 54 inches 54 in / 10 = 5.4 baseplate lengths 5.4 bl x 32 = ~173 studs. okay, so I was an entire baseplate short. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Prototype Destroyer

(...) Definitely a good start for said fleet--if the ships look like this, Blacktron won't have a prayer. XD Any chance of a picture showing this next to a 6986? (Not that it would be anywhere near the same size, but a comparison to the biggest (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space.

(...) At least it's chuckle-worthy... though to be honest I almost thought your comment was funnier. I'm going to have the phrase "awkward kneeless leap" bouncing around in my head for the rest of the day. (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: AT-FT - All Terrain Field Transport

Gil, One of the few Star Wars MOCs that 100% truly looks like it belongs in Star Wars. I can just see some version of this trudging away in the background of ESB or ROTJ, and most definately as one of those annoying things to destroy in the games. (...)
