  Re: MOC: The Bipolar Bear

hey Felix.. ummm... I uhh. umm. don't know what to say about this. That is certainly a cool looking heavy fighter you got there, and the Yeti eating polar bears is perfectly gruesome and disturbing. But mixing the two together.. that leaves me (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

One of your biggest endevours (Heavy Fighter) yet, John! And quite a conversation on esthetics too boot. Many of the merits and critiques have already been talked about in this thread, but I would like to add that from a pure form perspective, I (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

WOW! Thats some cool stuff Tony. Like I said in another post, I'm not much of a exo suit kinda guy but that looks cool. How posable are the arms? Like do they stay fairly tight or are they playable at all? Keep up the good work. Jamie (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Luna Spire Moonbase Super-module

(...) Excellent work! Have you had any bungee jumpers take a dive off of it yet? I'm assuming that with the reduced gravity that the trip down is quite different that the same trip on Earth... -Duane (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Greeblies: Pros and Cons (was: New Space MOCs)

(...) I think the 'one hit, one kill' would make sense for direct hits, but also think about the wide variety partial hits. I mean, even having a powerful laserbeam pass near your fighter would cause some damage. Even if armor plating isn't called (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

Hey TK, nice hardsuit. I tried using the technic bush parts for the arms when I was buiding my PA003 but I found them too short since I doubled up the levers. They do look great on your hardsuit. I really like what you have done with the transport (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

Dude, I love the carrier. Not so often do we see support equipment, I love it! Particuarily the engine, the chute from bed of truck to interior, and the greeblies on the exterior are very nice. I like your use of the antennes for arms and legs. I (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

  Re: The Quasar

Cool. Like Paul said, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was "racing boat". The shape of it is really pleasing. I think that the sporadic black and antifreeze bits detract a bit from the model. I makes an otherwise clean design look kind of (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  greebling for keeps

oh yeah, very nice. although you want to keep in mind what adrian said: build what YOU like, and don't mind us ***holes (paraphrasing) this is really nice now, keeping the greeblies in between the slopes and behind the engine panels is really (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

John, While I think the ship looked good the way it was (yeah, if it were to *really* fly thru space it might get ripped up, and maybe "fighter" wasn't the best description for it), this is even better. I think it's fine just the way it is now. Maye (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

to greeble or not to greeble

(...) well, there are basically two 'kinds' of design: 1) greebled, machinery, "dirty" look 2) smooth, sleek, refined, "clean" look #1 shows up in a lot of movies like Aliens, et al where you see lots of greeblies all over everything. #2 shows up in (...)   Re: Greeblies: Pros and Cons (was: New Space MOCs)

(...) My designs take in a great deal of various Sci Fi sources. Most space vehicles on TV and movies are typically fairly uncluttered, or at least have large expanses of smooth surfaces. Most likely because it's easier to make models that way. But (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: The Quasar

OK, well, at the risk of being accused of saying its PrettyGood TM its PrettyGood. meaning, its a lot better than other stuff you've done. you are getting a cool feel for shape and color and hiding stuff in your ship like sandman does sometimes. i (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)
