This all sounds good (even if my family is going to freak at the idea of
buying a 21 year old legos for christmas two years running.) Very
importantly for me, though- has anyone tried to make ScoutDOS.exe work
under dosemu (www.dosemu.org)? Also, how much memory are we looking at on
the scout? I really like the idea of working with a larger screen and
some built in sensors, but I'm curious if anything really interesting
(program-wise) can be done with the Scout.

(...) I don't use Linux but if dosemu properly emulates the serial port I don't see why this wouldn't work. (...) The Scout can hold one user program in RAM and it must fit into about 400 bytes. This may not sound like much but most Scout actions (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.scout)

Just picked up the Scout Development set at (URL) . Great stuff! You can program the Scout in Lego assembler and something that's similar to spirit.ocx. There's a DOS driver too! This'll keep me quite busy for a while. Lot's of documentation and (...) (25 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
