I've been working with José David Parra on the next version of his (URL) RCX.NET> project, because 1.) the NXT system is coming out, and 2.) RCX.NET is basically a .NET wrapper of Spirit.ocx, which means it's not so nice to program with. Another (...) Hi all, Thank you if you completed the survey about your chosen development environment. Early results are as follows: 48% of respondents use NQC as their main language. (...) I haven't tried it with a program on the Scout yet but the scout uses the third motor commands to send VLL and the Microscout accepts VLL commands when running the "P" program. I was playing around with my Scout and using a microscout as a third motor using the VLL and fibre optics. It has limited use due to the length restrictions of the fibre optic cable and the microscout motor is not the easiest to use or mount. I have (...) While programming a Scout using BrickCC, no matter how many times I tried, I could not get the Scout to 'float' its motors. At the end of last year I finally signed up for high speed internet access from Comcast. Included in the agreement (with my wife) is that I would get rid of my long association with AOL. (...) You can program the Scout brick using NQC. Is that what you mean by "new"? You can also program the Scout brick using MindScript and LASM. All three of these languages are supported in BricxCC. They work well but I have to set the USB IR Tower range to short (through the control panel of my WINDOWS 98) for downloading NQC programs. Otherwise, (...) (...) Here's what I found out about the Scout and the USB tower: If you are Programming the Scout in NQC or using the Brixc Command Center, the USB tower and the Scout will communicate just fine. Rob, Yes, the MicroScout needs the light tube. The Scout, on the other hand, should work with the IR tower. As I stated in my previous message, I have absolutly no problems downloading NQC code to my Scout using BricxCC and the IR tower. I think the (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.robotics.scout)

Hi, I just recently downloaded the Scout SDK. I installed the software, but, I cannot get it to see my Scout.
