Rob,
Yes, the MicroScout needs the light tube. The Scout, on the other hand,
should work with the IR tower. As I stated in my previous message, I have
absolutly no problems downloading NQC code to my Scout using BricxCC and the
IR tower. I think the problem could be that the Scout SDK will only work
with the serial version of the tower.
Since LEGO no longer supports the Scout, I don't think there is anyway to
get the SDK to work with a USB tower.
Is there anyone that can disprove this?

| (...) Here's what I found out about the Scout and the USB tower: If you are Programming the Scout in NQC or using the Brixc Command Center, the USB tower and the Scout will communicate just fine. HOWEVER, if you are trying the use the Scout Software (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.robotics.scout)
