Hi
You go to all the hassle of making LegOS available for us Windows users and
still we have questions. I'm really struggling and can not find anything in
the docs or Lugnet to help (that I understand) and so I would really apreciate
some help.
I tried setting up manually following the howto so I have ActivePerl and
Cygwin on my Win95 machine.
Then I installed the new complete win version. Firstly there was no
helloworld.lx as mentioned in the readme.wri, but I ran make (just typed make)
in the /demo dir and this gave me an .lx file for each of the .c files. Then
'dll helloworld.lx'. The tower LED came on, but I got 5 instances of 'sending
keepalive...' followed by 'error deleting program'. The same appears to be
true for all other .lx files. ( I also thought that you uploaded a .srec file,
not a .lx??) And so no program in the RCX. What gives???
Also, where is the 'Target=' line that tells make what to compile? I can not
seem to find it anywhere. Or is target not used anymore?
Finally, I would like to use the tower on com2. Do I have to recompile or is
there a switch?
Any help would be greatly received, even if it is just a pointer to somewhere
else where I can find the info, polite suggestions please.
Thanks
Mike
ps I also tried downloading the old pdf api file for legOS 0.17 from the legOS
site, but I can not get winzip, unzip, gunzip or bunzip to unzip the pdf. Has
anyone else had this problem.
PpS Good effort on the windows setup program.

(...) If the readme file says the demo LX files are included, that is a mistake (or should I include them?). I'll have to correct it. As for your download problem, did you download the firmware first (firmdl3 legOS.srec)? LX files are relocatible (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

For those of you overwhelmed by the work involved to get a viable legOS developement system on the Windows OS, legOS for Windows is now available. If you only wish to write dynamic downloadable programs for the RCX, this package is all you need. If (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
