Ah...progress. I have finally started tracing the function calls. Did I
mention my head hurts? :-p Seriously, what I found was in the 0.2.2 on
Windows Instructions, number 8 says "Change the CINC variable definition in
legOS\Makefile.common to CINC=-I$(LEGOS_ROOT)include -I$(LEGOS_ROOT)
include/lnp -I." without the quotes. I thought the ending period was
punctuation and excluded it from the line. Upon tracing it to this line, I
added the period and miracles occurred... to an extent. :-)
The errors I get now (very near the end) are:
"/legOS/util/merge-map legOS.map legOS.dis > legOS.dis2
/legOS/util/merge-map: not found"
Of course, legOS.map and legOS.dis are in /legOS/boot. My explorations have
shown the merge-map function to be called within Makefile.kernel and
Makefile.user. What I can't quite find is what sets the directories that
these use? I've rechecked the other modifications I was to make to the
Makefiles but didn't catch anything that looked out of place.
Should the CFLAGS definition that follows end with ..."/include/lnp." or does
the period matter there? I originally tried it without and with didn't seem
to matter.
I've made little modifications and then tried to re-make --unix and now get:
"make[1]: Nothing to be done for 'all'."
... followed by the errors above. Do I have to un-make anything each time I
try a revision?
My appreciation for all the help.

| (...) In Unix-ish systems, that style of error message means that it is being generated by the program yada/yada/ld. So, what is happening is that ld.exe is unable to find crt0.o, whatever that is. (...) This is rather odd. /legOS/include/config.h (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
