It is really fun ... some of the time ;)

That's precisely what legOS is designed to do.  If you mean use a PC to
control a robot running legOS, that is also possible.  Unfortunately, the
the IR tower used for communications is rather limited, e.g. the robot might
be facing the wrong direction or be too far away.

Yeah, I kind of thought that IR may not be so good, but I'm sure that I can
find some ways around that.

I think I read about someone doing this, but it suffered from the
limitations mentioned above.  One possiblity is to create a stationary
robot, e.g. an arm that can pick up and move things.  This would overcome
the IR problems.  This is probably the only reasonable solution for a web
controlled robot.  FYI:  There is some java code available for use with the
Lego Robot, though I don't really know anything about it.

That's an idea, although the data acquisition system primarily measures
stress, fatigue and things like bumps in the road. I'll have to play with it.

That may be useful, because I'm thinking that the easiest way to interface
the robot with the web is via Java. Do you know where I can find this?

Thank you for your help,

Nils
