If I do a make realclean from the brickOS root directory: C:\cygwin\brickos>make realclean [lots of output delete] then when I run make -f helloworld.mak I get the (...) (...) Given that your OS Root setting was wrong before and now it is right then modifying that setting did help. It just didn't completely fix your problem. The OS Root setting in BricxCC needs to be set to the Cygwin path to the root of the brickOS (...) (19 years ago, 17-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I am able to use (compile and download) brickOS under cygwin but not under BricxCC. (...) I am sorry to say that the modification in the "OS root" setting didn't help. In fact I installed BricxCC in 2 of my computers. Both show the same error (...) (19 years ago, 16-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
