  Alternate firmware upload from MacOSX

Hi all, We're trying to wrap up our alternative runtime for the RCX (first), and soon the NXT. I am struggling, however, to upload our firmware from the Mac using a USB tower. I can upload using a serial or USB tower from both Windows and Linux... (...) (17 years ago, 10-Jun-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Receiving messages on PC

How advanced can RCX programming be?

I got my RIS a couple of weeks ago, and I have been building simple robots and programmed them using the program on the RIS cd.   Does SDK 2.0 work with RIS 1.5 (RCX 2.0)

Hi, I have RIS 1.5 and with an RCX 2.0 brick, I have downloaded the SDK 2.0 but the sample programs report Error (0xe0050c98) from VPBrick vpb: bad (unsupported) PBrick type Is this because I am using RIS 1.5?   Re: Two RCX with one IR-Tower

The 'usual' way to get status data is to poll the the RCX memory for status information, but you can't do that because of the number of RCX bricks; so how about getting each RCX to send a response message (or series of messages) to the PC encoding (...)   Re: RIS 1.0 vs. RIS 1.5 (v. 2.0?)

For the most part, the differences are in documentation and additional/different pieces, not the RCX hardware itself or the software. The one hardware difference is the lack of an external adapter plug in 1.5 (so, lots more batteries) and I believe (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
