I've used my AC adapter from my 9V trains and I've had no problems. I think you can you any old adapter just make sure that you don't put too much current into the RCX or bye,bye.... E-mail lego about it, I did once to find out how much current the (...) (26 years ago, 17-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

It would be handy if there was a word that deleted firmware. It is often inconvenient to get at the batteries. At Kekoa I see the opcode but no rom entry point. I did this a while back by calling functions in the spirit.ocx from an ASP page. I used it to control a webcam I made with an RCX and an old QuickCam. I ran it with Personal WebServer on a '95 box and IIS4.0 on my NT Server, but perhaps you can use (...) (26 years ago, 8-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.tele)

Hello Kurt, I want show you three possiblities for alternative power supplies. 1. Take 2 sets of 6 NiMH accus or 2 * 6 NiCd accus to have one set inside the rcx an one set in the charger. I have an RIS 1.5 set, which doesn't have the power connector. I seem to run through a set of batteries in 1-2 weeks, which will eventually get very expensive.
