| I am curious to clarify something. The NQC documentation states that an NQC program can have up to 5 tasks (I think that's the right number). In addition, the brick itself has the 5 program slots. | In light of the underwhelming lack of response to my LEGO IR post, maybe I need to clarify a little: The RCX tower and the LEGO remote control (#9738) both transmit a 38kHz carrier which is modulated at a 2400bps rate. | Hello All - - I'm interested in using a LEGO IR remote control to control other things besides the RCX. Has anyone here done any PIC development along these lines? | Joel, (...) in (...) The easiest way of implementing this would be to use the Lego-Robotics Wiki. Because it doesn't require an administrator it's easy for anyone to add the code/samples that they want. For NQC you can choose to add your links off: (...) True, it would increase the noise-to-signal ratio for many, but it would Keep It Simple. Also, I favor follow-ups (...) | Anyone interested in setting up a code repository for NQC? It could be a place to look for cut and paste routines that you could use in your project. | Dave, Thanks for all the comments in the thread. As I have not looked at the API supplied by the firmware I did not realise that the NQC api was such a close match. | That's all that really happens when I add new calls anyway. Anything that even remotely looks like a function call is either an inline function of a macro, and not part of the language itself. | I have seen a Mindstorm box here in the USA for version 1.5 apart from 10 less pieces and a recomendation for a 166Mz PC what is the diffference. | Dave, I like the finite coltrol of the motors myself but can understand the request. It may encourage the "younger" programmers to use the language.
