Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

(...) I'm guessing that using the built in IR port is close to the signal needed but not quite there. It's a shame LEGO used such an alien signal for their towers. But I really do love having FULL NQC on my iPAQ! At our last show I was able to fully (...) (25 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

(...) Paul, Nice work - I installed it on my Visor Platinum, but it acts weird. The Forward/back arrows run motor A, the left/right motor B and the buttons to the right motor C. The motor 1/2/3 buttons do nothing and the stop button will not stop a (...) (25 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Iteresting thread to work in progress on Porting NQC to PocketPC

(URL) it seems that the WinCE/PocketPC builds are not being updated. I find this hard to believe as the portable units make field programing a breeze! Dean -- Dean's Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

I've been very interested in tightly coupling my Palm and RCX for over a year. Simply put, I want to have the Palm be a higher level 'brain' for my robotic creations, acutally being part of the robot. I use Forth for the majority of my Palm coding (...)   NQC for PocketPC (Win CE) Arm processor

I just acquired a 64meg iPaq 3670 for use with Mindstorms and NQC but I haven't been able to find a ARM build of any of the software. Does anyone know of any or can they compile it? (URL) it for the SH3 and MIPS but not for the new generation of (...) (25 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Does anyone know of any NQC's for Pocket PC (Win CE)? For ARM processor? Thanks Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

Hi! Anybody has tried this soft using a Palm IIIe with a Scout ? I can't get it to work. The only response I got from my Scout is the light sensor led blinking when I put the Palm too close and push some button of the program. I also wanted to know (...)   Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

Greetings, I ought to have my head examined ;-) Paul's Robotic Mover worked perfectly on my wife's 2MB Visor but acted quite strange on my Visor Deluxe. Well, the fix and an easy one at that was to completely reset the Visor, reinstall all the apps (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

RE: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

The newest version of the Robotic Mover works very well on the Visor (at least my Prism, I have yet to try my older Deluxe). The symptoms you describe sound like low batteries in the Visor. I had the same symptoms using the OmniRemote software with (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

Greetings, Paul! Have you received any word from user's re: Robotic Mover works on a Visor? (My Visor Deluxe will install and run the app OK, but tapping an onscreen control appears to immediately shut the unit down and I cannot power it back up (...)   Palm Robotic Mover

In what is the most pro-active customer support I have ever experienced, Paul Ellams contacted me and suggested I might beta a newer revision of his Robotics Mover software for the Palm platform. He was suprised that my range using a Handspring was (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.palm)

Re: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

I'm Not sure why the Color Handspring Visor should have such a small IR Range with the software. With the software running on my Palm M100 it has a range of approx 2 meters. With the software running on a Palm IIIc it has a range of at least 6 (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

RE: New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

Well, you should just 'cause their pretty nifty, but not just for this software. I tried it out, and it does control the motors on the RCX and Scout, but the range (using a color Handspring Visor) is severely limited, only about an inch or so in (...) (...) I can't wait to try this with my Palm III and my Scout, I might not have to buy a remote. Thanks, George (25 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

New Palm IR Software to remote control your RCX

Just thought people might like to know I have developed a piece of Palm Software called Robotic Mover which allows you to remotely control your RCX. Unlike the other available software, This does actually use the built in infrared port of the Palm (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: Searching for alternatives

(...) Oops! I must have mistook the 'wireless' word and imagined the IR part... It connects to the BUS port on the bottom. Rather interesting really. Seems it's a 1.3~ mhz serial bus.   Re: Searching for alternatives

(...) That's a shame. Being this late in the game I would expect to see USB support and an expansion slot of some kind. (...) The keyboard is said to be IR linked. (...) (...) [Cross posted to lugnet.robotics.palm] For the Agenda VR3d (Developer/Tech version) it's only $179 USD. That's an incredible price for what you get.
