When I was putting my handyboard up for the night, the battery pack touched the side of the board with the LCD screen. The board was off at the time, but all of the red motor LEDs lit up. I am having a problem putting HandyBoard into bootstrap download mode. When I turn the HandyBoard on(holding down the stop button) the two LEDs do not turn off, and the board is not being detected. Hi We were uploading pseudo-code, and suddently the board turnend off. Now we can uploade the pseudo-code, but after we cut the power, the code is gone. (...) Well, thats not a problem. For the LCD you can get a other one that is Hitachi compatible. In fact thats the most. Welp, I've fixed the problem. Apparently the inductor at L1 has burnt out. I have no idea how could this have happened beside wear and tear (although the board was pretty new). As others have suggested, replacing the motor chips (starting with U8 (...) (23 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
