| | Polaroid setup w/ exp board...
|
| Hello, I am trying to setup the 6500 polaroid sonar package, but am having a little difficulty. I've soldered a .1uF cap (electrolytic) into the C7 space on the ranging board, connected a 22g wire from J12 to input 7, etc., etc. My problem is in (...) | Hi, Please, someone that is working with the handyboard and windows nt can tell me if do you have any problem in communicating the serial port with the handyboard? Do you think that the handyboard could be connected by serial port with windows nt? (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| (...) OK, this is good to know. (...) Yes, *if* more drop is necessary, more rectifier diodes would be called for (i.e. relatively fixed voltage drop), not a series resistor (v=iR). (...) I didn't have any 5watt resistors handy, so I put a pretty (...) (25 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| (...) Hi Fred, I don't claim to be an expert on these, but what I have read leads me to believe that this may damage the cells if left on too long. For common NiCds (800mah AA' for instance) C/10 should really be considered a fast charge and not a (...) (25 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| A 470 microfarad electrolytic capacitor across the power leads to the sonar board will probably fix your problem. You can get a lot of current really fast out of one of those things. I remember charging them up and tossing them to one of my friends (...) (25 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
