One manufacturer of such a device is Fascinating Electronics of Oregon. They make a device that hooks to your serial port, you send it "commands" and it answers. Thanks Fred, Yes, we have several working ones that download and boot just fine. In fact we're going ahead with these, but it means we don't have 1 bot per student. Re: Parallel Port... if you want to see how to get 8 input bits, all straightened out, see: (URL) is also a program called SEEBITS that allows you to easily see all the input bits and set the output bits on and off.
