  RE: IR outputB

I heard that radio waves do not need "line-of-sight" like IR does. Can someone with more exerience verify or dispute this? It makes sense since longer wavelengths of EMR can bounce off surfaces easier. So maybe your Lynx device is better. ---...--- (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: IR outputB

So, it seems like the short answer to this question is no one knows what to attach to correctly and safely (to prevent HB damage) allow IR transmissions from the HB :) I understand the receiving capabilities, as they are documented and have routines (...)   Re: Another IC error: "Out of memory"

Hi everyone: I went back and rethought this: (...) I played around it it some more, removed the 'scamper' gait, and got the size of code IC loads down to 12500 bytes, and the error is gone. I'm not sure if this means I have some 3k of variables, or (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Another IC error: "Out of memory"

Thanks again for all the help with the "yacc" error I experienced before. I'm having new code resourcing problems now: mainly a problem with my 1994 version 2.851 interactive c. It loads my libraries, and I'm getting an error: "Out of memory (tried (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: IR outputB

(...) It is not the bouncing off of things but the passing through them that makes RF able to operate without line of sight. Line of sight gives greater distances, though, even with RF. The Lynx Tx/RX will definately have a greater range than the (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: How to measure the signal Voltage ?

not knowing anything about the sensor, but guessing (hoping) that it behaves like an open collector gate, this is what i would do--fool with the sensor on the bench to determine how it works before i let it near the HB. 1. power up the sensor, (...)   Re: Print to LCD

I certainly do! Spent a lot of effort working developing a machine code interface for the Handyboard. One of the biggest hurdles was getting messages to the LCD display. If you look on the Handyboard home page, in the contributed section: (URL) will (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Parts availability

(...) I was able to follow the parts list and get most of the things from the suggested supplier. (...) (eqivalent?) (...) I thought that I got the memory from Jameco, but I think BG-Micro sells it was well. I would also think they both might carry (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR outputB

Is the IR reciever on the HB the same thing as in the robot in MR:ITI book? I though it would be different. In any case, you can but...the reciever is more effective as a "wireless communication" device that can recieve various IR codes which you (...)   Re: IR outputB

(...) o Hi Did anyone receive an answer to this. I ant to connect a Radio Shack (276-143) IR LED to the IR output and am wondering what resistance to use. Also, I saw a design in Mobile Robots..Inspirition where they use two IR LED (one on each (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
