I bought the "Personal Robot Navigator" last year. The book focuses on the simulation software (came with the book). Try connecting a 4.7K pull up resistor to VCC on the ECHO pin before the diode. the echo pin is open collector and pull up is provided by the handy board digital input when used as described in the handy board instruction. Eric - - You might try shielding the IR sensor ... add successive layers of "Scotch" tape until you get the desired sensitivity. Typical drop across an LED is about 1.45v. A unit rated at 5v likely has a build in voltage drop/current limiter (read resistor). I would suggest reading the info sheet for absolute ratings. Dear Mr Pennington, Have you configured IC using ic -config command ? This sets the library file and its directory. For handy board, the library file is lib_hb.lis.This is a list file which contains the words lib_hb.c and lib_hb.icb. The lib_r22.lis (...) (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
