  Re: it works!

(...) Great Jeff, I've been planning on doing the definitive breadboard/diagram and document here but haven't gotten to it. Don't worry overmuch about "oversaturation", you are using the transistors as switches and as long as you don't violate the (...) (28 years ago, 22-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

IR & Modules / Need help

I am installing a couple IR emitters and two Radio Shack / Sony IR modules for close in object avoidance. Two main questions: 1) Which software do I use? I have R22-ir.icb which seems to be for the 6.720 Rev. 2.2 board. Will that work? 2) Where does (...) (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  "cher" archives

OK, I know this is going to sound like a stupid question to most of you, but here goes: I've noticed more than a few referrals to "the cher archives" since I've been on this mailing list, but I haven't figured out how to get there. Can someone give (...) (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  it works!

Hey, it's time to celebrate! :-) I managed to get the h-bridge circuit working, after thinking about it for a while, tinkering a bit, and reading a couple chapters on transistors... :-) I can run a motor forward and backward, with no problem. The (...) (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Handy and mini boards

(...) Yup. Worked for me. :-) I used port D on the HB as a 4 bit output, ran a cable from there to port C on the MB, and used one of the Y signals on the HB as a data ready line. On the MB side of things, I just sat in a loop waiting for YX (where X (...) (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Handy and mini boards

Has any one thought of the possibility of interfacing a miniboard to a handyboard? It would be a cheap way to get extra input/ motor control. Is this possible? (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: diodes in h-bridge

When the motor power is removed, the motor generates a reverse voltage. This voltage can damage the transistors, the diodes provide a conductive path back to the power supply to absorb these spikes. Convieniently, N-channel MOSFETs (and other (...) (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Code for Polaroid Sonar board

Hi Kent, I just wanted to let you know that your code for the Polaroid ranging boards is fantastic! It works right out of the box! Keep up the good work. - Prabal P.S. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, Kent wrote some code to (...) (28 years ago, 21-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  diodes in h-bridge

What do the diodes across Q1-Q4 do, in Chuck's h-bridge design? I haven't figured that out yet.... (28 years ago, 20-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  mailing problems fixed (already! :-)

Ok, disregard that last message. :-) (28 years ago, 20-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
