  DIP switch in headers

(...) Actually, this sensor connector layout was my idea back for the Rev 2 6.270 board, and, yes, I did have both keying, and, secondarily, dip switches in mind when I designed it. However, plugging in dip switches turned out to be a bad idea, (...) (27 years ago, 23-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Handyboard Expansion Board

Actually, unless Fred has changed the way the sensor connectors work he was quite clever in that the spacing of the I/O connectors is exactly dip switch width. Basically you can plug in a DIP switch into the I/O header and get as many switches as (...) (27 years ago, 22-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Handyboard Expansion Board

Hi folks, I know it's probably a bit too late, but couldn't you somehow add some DIP-switches to the expansion board, like the ones on the 6.270 ? This would be very nice for quickly changing the way a program works, without hanving to recompile it. (...) (27 years ago, 22-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Hoi, I am still puzzled about connecting motors to the handyboard. I have seen plenty of motors wich draw less current then 600 mA. But still they have a couple of Amps stall current. Are the moter drivers chips protected for this ? Are all LEGO (...) (27 years ago, 22-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Handyboard with EPROM

Yes, there is a pin compatible EPROMs and EEPROMs for the Handyboard's RAM chip. However, without the RAM chip the board is limited to the 256 bytes (or 512 bytes in some versions) of on-chip RAM which can be pretty limiting. Another option is to (...)
