(...) I am not there with you obviously so I cannot see your exact situation but when I was first playing around with the IR detectors (same kind, 38KHz from radio shack) I had the same problem. Hello all, I've been playing with IR proximity sensors, and wonder if anyone can provide some suggestions. I hooked up an IR LED (Radio Shack 'high output IR LED') to the Handyboard's IR output with a 330ohm resistor in series (the smallest value (...) Hi Joseph, No, I have never had any problems with Digital Micro Systems. Actually, I am pleased with them. I ordered an assembled board a few months back and got the board on time. I really don't know what the problem with your compiler is. Maybe it's the wrong one for your programming language or for the board you're using. I am still getting a strange compiler error and I can't figure it out. The exact error is: Compiler error! 62 extra bytes left on board stack Sometimes the number of bytes is more and sometimes less. Sounds to me like your LED is just not focused straight ahead. I found that sticking the IR LED in a Radio Shack panel mount LED holder (cat no 276-080a) worked the best for focusing the beam of IR.
