  Re: Signal Diode

The 1N4001 is the 50v version of a family of diodes (1N4001-1N4007) that cover 50 volts to 1000 volts. In general you could use any of the other versions. I would recommend looking for 1N4002(100v) or 1N4003(200v). As it happens Digikey says they (...) (28 years ago, 11-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

the 1n4001 is a pwr diode, not a signal, try looking in pwr section. -f In your message you said: (...) (28 years ago, 11-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

HB does not enter on bootstrap mode

Hola, I followed step 4.4 in the HB assembly manual. I hold down STOP-SW while powering on the board, then the battery LED light for 1/3 s, but the power light does not go OFF. I have checked that the MODA signal and the RESET are present at the (...) (28 years ago, 11-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Signal Diode

Hey all, Mouser (and Digi-Key, etc.) say that the signal diode 1N4001 has been discountinued, I can't seem to locate any one who has them. This small partis holding up the project. Anybody have extras? Ideas? JTW (28 years ago, 11-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  IS1U60 IR Demods

Hello! Can anyone tell me what a fair price would be for this part (IS1U60) would be? I am not trying to make money on anyone I just want to try to share some of these hard to get parts. By the way, sorry I haven't got back to those who responded I (...) (28 years ago, 11-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: empty addresses

(...) Why do you want to store it at a particular address? Can't you store it into a variable name and let IC take care of where it goes? I think the 16K memory when allocated builds from $0000 and $7FFF towards the middle, so I'd guess any unused (...) (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: expansion board schematic posted

I vote for the 100mA 5V switch. Digital Outs seem to be quite the disired feature here amoung many. This 100mA capability also provides more options for people to use these signals. It's better than just the CMOS signal, since it can double as that (...) (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: I agree-

(...) I agree. I could use a few more outputs, and a serial port or two. Having a synchronous serial port would be too good to be true, but I can do most of what I need with just one more async port over what the Handyboard currently has. Haven't (...)   RE: I agree-

The arm comes with a Scott Edwards serial servo controller. The problem is that (...) (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  L293D Piggybacking

My question is, can I piggyback the L293D's and what will this increase my max current output to?   Not enough Servo ports on Expansion board

Hello, Iwould suggest increasing the available servo ports on this. Servos are widely available, getting cheaper, and compact for robotics.
