My question is, can I piggyback the L293D's and what will this increase my max current output to? I am going to just one motor from port 0 and the other from port 3 so as possibly eleminate smoking any more 293's. What do you think? Bill Rose Fort (...) Hello, Iwould suggest increasing the available servo ports on this. Servos are widely available, getting cheaper, and compact for robotics. This could have been facilitated on the original Handy board, but nevermind. I'm already using my method on (...) (28 years ago, 9-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I followed step 4.4 in the HB assembly manual. I hold down STOP-SW while powering on the board, then the battery LED light for 1/3 s, but the power light does not go OFF. Sean, Using two of the SPI port pins, and a MUX and DEMUX, you should be able to gang together four of the Polaroid ultrasonic sensors. See if the code below makes sense. It's actually a '374 or '373 for outputs. I guess you could use them for inputs too, but you're better off using a '244 for input. Or even a '574, '573, '541, these chips put inputs on one side and outputs on the other. Very convenient. Even (...) (28 years ago, 8-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
