  Workin' its little heart out?

Hi, all... A generic 68HC11 question- I (sorta) got my code running this weekend. I'm trying to get a 68HC11E1 to operate all 4 OC and IC lines on interrupts. I have about 800 instruction cycles spread over 8 interrupt routines. The waveform I'm (...) (28 years ago, 23-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  serial port

Hello, I'd like my handyboard to communicate with my PC through the serial port. Since I am not a RS 232 specialist, I am looking for code on the PC side. I am using Visual J++ and/or Visual C++ under Windows 95. Thanks for any help. Laurent (...) (28 years ago, 23-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Thank you for my time on your mailing list. Pressure of commercial work makes it impossible for me to keep up, so please remove me from the list. I look forward to being able to read it again some time in the future. Thanks, Terry, a.k.a. (...) (28 years ago, 22-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: chip selects:

(...) They are memory-mapped. See Appendix B of the 6270 Robot Builder's Guide, in the Tech Docs area, for info. -Fred (28 years ago, 21-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  chip selects:

Perhaps I have just overlooked this in the documentation for the HB and IC. Is there an easy way to control the chip selects Y*? Are they memory mapped or harder to get to than that? Thanks for the info: patrick (28 years ago, 21-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: JAVA and the handyboard

There is another paper in SPIE Mobot Robots 11...I'll put that on the MIT AI ftp site when I get back from vacation (1/2/97). Willie (28 years ago, 20-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Bali papers?

(...) I noticed both the PS files had a strange character at the beginning of the first line and the last line. I wasn't able to print the files until I removed the strange chars. -- Clint (28 years ago, 20-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: (Polaroid quandry)

(...) Yes, you can use the +5v regulated power bus to power the ranging module. That's all the power you need for a Polaroid US system. (...) That's 2500 mA. (through the power lines of the renging module) At least that's what the specs say. Who (...) (28 years ago, 20-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  stepper motors

Hi all, I want to control 2 stepper motors with my handyboard. I want to do microstepping for high resolution. I already have a couple of vexta unipolar(6 wire) steppers. I also have the TI Sn754410 H-bridge chips. I now understand the need for (...) (28 years ago, 20-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Bali papers?

Has anyone had any luck in reading the PS files on Bali? My Ghostview v1.5 on HP-UX gives many errors. (28 years ago, 19-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: JAVA

The IC package is quite impressive. What's the expectation of a JAVA-like language? --Jerry (28 years ago, 19-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  (Polaroid quandry)

Kind of in a jam... Have heard conflicting advise (thaks again to everybody who bothered to give it)...My design group wants to come to a decision about powering our two Polaroid Ultrasonic tranducers.... * One set of opinions has advised that we (...)   Re: Newcomer

(...) The E variant can handle 4 IC lines and 4 OC lines, while the A must do 3 IC lines and 5 OC lines. The IC and OC lines are the way the processor handles timer-sensitive signals, such as RC signals. The Handyboard can handle up to 2 ICs and 2 (...)   Re: Handy Board Crash

(...) Re-load pcode_hb.s19. If the board loses its operating program, when it starts up it runs gibberish, and the value of the motor output latch is randomized. -Fred (28 years ago, 19-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Newcomer

Hello: First - thanks for all the good information that we were able to find on the handyboard web page and on the associated ftp site. (...) I'm assuming you mean the motor LED's and that they stay on and nothing shows up on the LCD. Sounds like you didn't disconnect the battery and accidently shorted it.   Handy Board Crash

Hi, I was installing another user knob beacuse the other one broke. While I was in the middle of doing it, I think I fried the board.   RE: JAVA and the handyboard

Found this about Bali after doing a web search: (URL) contains an abstract about a paper presented at an SPIE related conference.
