    Robot lab
   Robot lab users, Does the icon based system of robot lab compare well to the firmware system? Would you think it work as well with young children as firmware seems to? Does anyone know what the new advantages of the new 1.5 are? I know the group had (...) (25 years ago, 25-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

     Does anybody know if the Robot Lab uses the same spirit.ocx as the RIS?       So it seems that the spirit.ocx can't utilize the full potential of the firmware. Have any idea why LEGO didn't that way? What is the main functionality that the firmware provides but the spirit.ocx won't support? -- et Dave Baum (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

     The spirit.ocx[*] can be consider as a LEGO's official API for programming the RCX and CyberMaster. Still wondering why the RoboLab won't use the spirit.ocx. Howbout the RIS. It compiles the visual statements and expressions to byte-code and stores (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

   Yes I would recommend it for young children. So far the youngest ROBOLAB programmer on record is 4 years old (or maybe 3). There are many things in the new ROBOLAB 2.0 (out soon) such as scientific data graphing and analysis [see the pictures in the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
