There are some very tiny cameras available, some of which have been
used in R/C planes. I'd suggest grabbing a copy of "Nuts & Volts" and
perusing the ads. Last one I looked at had several outfits selling
very tiny cameras (and xmtrs) as complete units or just the lense
and pickup on a circuit board (you'll also find lots of resources for
Basic stamp and PIC boards, various microcontrollers etc).
If you really want something to drool over, there is an episode of
The Learning Channel's "Extreme Machines" running this week on
future aircraft. One segment is on Miniature Air Vehicles (MAVs),
very, very small R/C aircraft with video, onboard CPU, electric power
etc. All mounted in a 6" foam disk! You'd probably need funding
by the military to afford the components, but you can always
dream (or drool, as the case may be).

| I have considerable interest in having a "legocam" option. I have browsed numerous internet sites for such devices and most have one thing in common: They're power hogs. The 2.4GHz more so than the 900MHz ones. They expect wall transformer power. (...) (25 years ago, 19-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
