I like this idea too.
It would be interesting to be able to project the sun onto a
wall or screen to see sun-spots etc.(if possible).
And you could also use it to fade your posters/wall-paper etc.,
or keep the sun on your plants :)

Also up and down?
Actually it might as well just shut down below a certain light
level, and find the sun again when it's bright enough.
This has other uses too, like aiming a weapon and firing at a
light source...
Two robots, each shinig a light of some kind could search each
other out like this...
