    Distance Sensor —Greg Majewski
Hello, Very sorry if this topic has already been brought up; I don't read this group, and don't even have a Mindstorms kit. I was thinking about how to make a distance sensor the other day, and I came up with a very simple idea, though I can not (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Distance Sensor —Robert G. Fay
This is a good plan. Linc Smith suggested a similar system to me only it was linear. I used the touch sensor to count the studs on a technic beam. I was traveling a short distance with a slider. Your plan sounds worth trying. Of course, a rotation (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

        Re: Distance Sensor —Chris Phillips
(...) By far the easiest solution is to buy one or more rotation ("angle"?) sensors from Lego. I overpaid for mine, but I've heard that you can get these for about $17 US from Lego Shop at Home. (Sorry, I don't have the URL handy...) These sensors (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Just to kick around some ideas -- A friend (Jeff Battisti (sp?)) and I are kicking around the idea of getting a student group together to make an exploratory mapper 'bot using the Mindstorms kit and either nqc of the Java bindings... What we want is (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Mars Rover (was: Re: Distance Sensor) —John Cromer
(...) Speaking of expansion packs, whatever happened to the Mar's Rover pack that was supposed to come out with the first two? Has anybody heard anything about it? Is it just delayed or is it not coming out at all? John C. (25 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)
