        Direct control of IRDA —Chai Chin Loon
   Anyone knows how to control the IRdA port directly in Win95/98? With direct control, we can control/receive RCX and other IR devices directly without using the tower. (26 years ago, 17-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)

   (...) Short answer -- the IR protocol used by the RCX is more akin to that used in TV remotes than it is to the IrDA standard.
