This is an excerpt from an "almost" real-life experience: Lalala, look mom! My robot has four motors! Two on each side to power the tank treads. Hi, I found that one of my Mindstorms motors is a bit stronger than the other. The robot should go forward, but slightly diverts right. When I exchange the motors and nothing else, it diverts to the left. Does anybody else have similar experiece? (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) That's just how mechanical parts are - all parts are slightly different. I've used a differential between the two motors, and then measured the position difference with a rotation sensor.
