Hey all:
Could you not use a switch like those on a stopwatch? You get to depress
the switch(bump into something, like a wall or a cat or your spouse or
sibling) and then the thing holds the motion in the other direction. my
little brother had one of these switches that he used to play with. it
had a large number of contacts, wire in/outs with the bulk of a roll of
USA pennies, only lighter. He loved it 'cause he could just push the
switch and one color would show with the word "Forward" on it and
another press would get the word "Backup" to show in the little view
window atop this (loose) switch. A stopwatch (a big one) might have a
switch you could use or you could just use a microswitch and a flipflop
inline with some diodes and transistors to simulate this "memory action"
(remembering what you did last and then doing the opposite at the next
signal).

Yes, I'm sure that would work. The only thing is, though, that (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)
