  2D sound localizing robot

Here is our new sound localizing robot called Nic_3. It is capable of fixing the azimuth of a sound source that is located in the horizontal plane. The localizing process is done using the stereo audio amplifier that we already used with Nic_1 and (...) (16 years ago, 1-Sep-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: PnP, an NXT-based "industrial" robot

(...) Yes, the motion reminds me a a bird as well sometimes. The speed of the arm motions is under program control - it will slow down smoothly as it approaches the target position, for instance, and some movements are set to accelerate & (...) (16 years ago, 31-Aug-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Nice work again Brian, It is a nice action, is it accelerating? or fixed speed?, reminds me of a bird.. perhaps Peck'n'Place... :) I noticed you have a calibration with a limit switch under the 'place' rack, are your Pick racks also calibrated or (...)   PnP, an NXT-based "industrial" robot

OK, I had to post this in rtl because I confess the main inspiration for this was watching Ian's amazing LEGO industrial P&P automations over the years. This isn't nearly as fast as his, but it's the first time I've captured a motion I really like, (...) (16 years ago, 31-Aug-08, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic) !

<Snippage> (...) </Snippage> 60's, huh? Although I wasn't there myself, my uncle always said if you remember the 60's, you weren't there. You remembered part of it. Does that mean you were partially there? ;) -Rob www.lifelites.com FUT - O-T.fun (16 years ago, 26-Aug-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Official New Service Announcement From The BrickEngraver--LONG

(...) Back in the late 60's or early 70's a guy name Steve Brand (this if from memory) came out with The Whole Earth Catalog--An Access to Tools.   RCX Programming on GNU/Linux

So, I am delurking after a year or so to ask if anyone has seen a good way to work with the RCX on Linux. I have available to me RS232 and USB towers, RCX versions 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0, ROBOLAB versions 1.0 through 2.9 (plus bug fix), RIS2.0, as well (...) (16 years ago, 22-Aug-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Hmmm... WeDo

(...) Actually, now that you force me to pay attention, I was thinking of the #8886 Power Function to 9V cable, which can connect to NXT via the NXT to 9V cable. But of course, given that stack-up of kludges, there is a wire pair missing, at least (...) (16 years ago, 18-Aug-08, to lugnet.robotics)
