  Re: Datalogging with the NXT

(...) There are step-by-step instructions for using the data logging feature of the NXT for measuring light level and similar experiments in the Extreme NXT book. The book also shows how to import the text data files to spreadsheet programs. You can (...) (17 years ago, 31-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Datalogging with the NXT

(...) There was a TV show on the Discovery Channel or one of the other science channels a couple of years back on exactly this topic. It was one of the "kids do science things" type of show. They used some other logging device. Unfortunately I have (...) (17 years ago, 31-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  Datalogging with the NXT

OK, I've got to admit that this isn't exactly "robotics". In fact, it must be about the smallest "robot" I've ever made, in that it was really just the NXT and a single sensor, with a few 3L pins and a studless beam to secure the sensor. But the (...)   NXT robot that does Wii bowling

  Four-stroke pneumatic pump

Here is my last creation, a four-stroke pneumatic compressor. (URL) only special parts are the small pumps and the crankshaft pieces. This compressor can also be build up partly. I mean you can use one or two pumps instead of four. Depending on the (...) (17 years ago, 25-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.announce) !

  Walker useing new leg design

Re: Source Code Changes in NXT Firmware Version 1.05

(...) The changes between 1.03 and 1.04 are far more extensive than the changes from 1.04 and 1.05, if you lump the support for ADPCM compression into a single change (which involves c_sound.c, d_sound.c, d_sound.h, d_sound.r, d_sound_adpcm.r, and (...)   Source Code Changes in NXT Firmware Version 1.05

I haven't seen it previously mentioned but the open source firmware for version 1.05 is downloadable from the LEGO Mindstorms web site. I did a WINDIFF on the various source files to see what has changed in this release. I then manually examined the (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Powering 9v Trains using the NXT

(...) Are you using the NXT on batteries alone, or using the Li-ion battery pack so you can plug the NXT into a wall for more consistant power? (...) As others have noted, this has worked well with the RCX. It's essentially how the GBC trains are (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.ulug)

Re: Powering 9v Trains using the NXT

(...) I'm not sure if there's a better way, and I haven't tried it with an NXT, but I've had good luck with option 2 using an RCX. I isolated the track by putting a bit of clear tape over the ends that connect to the other track sections. -Elroy (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.ulug)
