  New BricxCC test release

I have uploaded a new test release of Bricx Command Center (BricxCC) today. It will be officially released, if all goes well, in the next week or so. But you can get it now if you'd like to be able to use several more tool windows with your NXT. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  GBC Website going down for maintenance

All, All that and no a/c either. This 98 degree heat has finally killed my central air unit, and we are running hot! We need a new one and the server will need to be taken off line for a short while. I'll post a follow up to this message after I (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT->PC with Python

I've been conjuring up some Python bindings around fantom. Would like to bypass the driver and use USB/BT directly (esp. for unix) but no luck so far. If anyone wants to contribute to this or get access to what I have so far please respond. -dbm (...) (19 years ago, 26-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT->PC Communication

(...) Unfortunately, the Fantom driver library does not wrap the Direct Command functionality (i.e., the portion which lets you read sensor values and control motors) in a high level API. You still have to build the buffer and extract values from (...) (19 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT->PC Communication

(...) The Driver SDK (URL) provides a C interface as well as a C++ interface. You could call this C interface from VB to communicate with the NXT. geoff (19 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Bluetooth

Hi, I bought an Airnet ABT101 to communicate with a NXT. According to your list it is compatible. I haven't been able to get it to work and was wondering if you (or whoever reported it as working) could tell me how to get it to work. Thanks, Jon Jon (...)   NXT->PC Communication

I'm trying to figure out a way from a VB program to interact with the NXT, via USB or BlueTooth. I was hoping I could just open a serial COM port after a BlueTooth connection was established, and just read the message and parse it, but that doesn't (...)   bi-directional optical brick-to-brick communication

Connection NXT to the RCX is not obvious. Here is a simple idea that we first realized as an experimental setup with 2 RCXs that can easily be turned into a bi-directional connection between intelligent bricks using only one port on each brick. The (...) (19 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Security Certificate on Robotics

Every time I access the Robotics News page I am asked if I want to install an out-of-date security certificate for PayPal. Why is an out-of-date security certifacte for PayPal associated with the Robotics News page? TNX Joseph (19 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NJRC 2006 - Robots to go into water

This year’s National Junior Robotics Competition (NJRC) 2006 is more exciting than ever. The organizers at the Singapore Science Centre has set some devilish missions including one that requires your robot to literally go into water. To a depth of 5 (...)   Re: Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06

(...) I found this out. I bought five boxes of Zamors (50 balls) that were going cheap when the LEGO store in Kingston, UK, was closing down. Unfortunately, they're too big to go through something like the 2x2 shaft of a ball pump. I had to buy some (...) (19 years ago, 18-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  BricxCC release 3.3.7.15

I have today made the current test release of BricxCC (with a few minor NBC-related changes) into an official release (version 3.3.7.15). I have also released a new beta of NBC (1.0.1.b5) which includes improvements in the built-in preprocessor (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms software

I had it working for a while on XP but then it would crash during the tutorials and the computer would not work correctly until I rebooted. I think the problem is with Quicktime 3.x.
