    Mindstorms software —Tom Stiles
Ok, another new user question (by the way, thanks for all that have answered my other questions): I bought a used Robotics Invention System 1.5 kit and since it was 1999 vintage and ran on Windows 98, I was wondering if it will run under Windows XP?         Re: Mindstorms software —Ed McGlynn
(...) Should be OK - mine works on XP SP2. I don't remember doing any updates to get it to work, but that was a while ago. Fear not! Ed (18 years ago, 11-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

         Re: Mindstorms software —Tom Stiles
I just installed it on my XP machine and the tutoriasl seem to crash. This maybe be due to the fact that I have Quicktime 7.x installed instead of the 3.x from the kit. If you are more into an object oriented approach, the java-based leJOS platfrom (www.leJOS.org) may be an option for you. Regards, Matthias (...) (18 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

        Re: Mindstorms software —Lamar Ledford
Tom, In my last msg, I would like to clear up one misleading statement. I use Bricxcc and NQC. I don't like Graphic interfaces in lieu of "C" type programming language. Lamar "lledford" <lsrgroup@etcmail.com> wrote in message (...) (18 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

        Re: Mindstorms software —Tom Stiles
I had it working for a while on XP but then it would crash during the tutorials and the computer would not work correctly until I rebooted. I think the problem is with Quicktime 3.x. It did not seem to install it correctly as it reported that it was (...) (18 years ago, 16-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)
