HELP, please! USB tower problems

Hello everybody.
I hope I am posting on the right newsgroup, if not please feel free to move this
thread.
I have recently purchased Lego mindstorms, but for my disappointment I have not
been able to do so much with it.
My problem is that windows can only detect my USB tower for like 20
seconds.After that I get an error on the device manager (yellow (!) mark)
telling me that it can’t find the driver. If I install it again, it will work
for another 20 seconds and same story again…Very annoying!
My tower works ok with the RIS 2.0.
These are my settings:
PC: AMD Athlon 1.4GB; windows 2000
RCX 2.0
USB tower
RIS 2.0; SDK 2.5, BricxCC
Comments or suggestions will be really appreciated

| (...) work (...) May not be of much help, but the 2.5 SDK from the Lego website has an updated USB IR tower driver. You may try using it. I think you may be able to go to the Lego website and search for "SDK" to find the download link. You will (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)
