  LDraw

I've seen a number of models' instructions apparently created with LEdit, but when I try to run the LDraw program, I get a run time error on both Win98SE and WinXP Pro. I can't get LEdit to run either. Since the author is apparently no longer with (...) (21 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDraw

Go to the LDraw Org home page at (URL) for compatible programs. I'd recommend trying MLCad. (...) (21 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: LDraw

(...) Unfortunately, all attempts to do so fail with a DNS error. (...) MLCad's readme specifically states to install LDRAW and LEDIT prior to installing MLCAD. Does this mean that MLCad will work, even though LDRAW doesn't. I'm not interested in (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDraw

(...) The LDraw website has been down for the weekend. MLCad provides you the ability to view other people's LDraw files, just ignore its ability to create new LDraw files. (...) Kevin (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

The programs Ldraw/LEdit do work, but there both MS-DOS programs. The (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDraw

(...) Hi Mike, It is my understanding that MLCad uses the LDraw.org parts data base, but not LDraw or LEdit executable. I will test this when I get home. Kevin (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

In lugnet.robotics, Kevin L. Clague writes: <SNIP> (...) That is correct, MLCad just requires the parts from there, not the executeables themself. Michael (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: LDraw

(...) Well, MLCad certainly does work. As others have pointed out, it apparently only uses the parts listings from LDraw/LEdit. Now however, I have another problem. The particular model I'm looking at apparently wasn't set up with the "0 Step" (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDraw

(...) In MLCad, you can click on the parts that you want to peel away, and make the invisible, by right clicking the mouse and using the visibility sub-menu. This throws nothing out, but makes it easy to see what you want to see. Kevin (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)
