My birthday's coming soon (I'm 12) , and since there isn't much for my parents to buy me from Lego that I don't have or detest, I might ask for a Spybotic set. (I know, I'm mainly a space, pirate and castle fan.) I'm interested in the new pieces and (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I personally ordered the Gigamesh first, due to the unique wheel set--the other 'bots looked as if I could make them with stock RIS parts. I only have the Gigamesh, but am currently placing an order for the tracked one (have to go look up the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I've only played with them at the BrickFest demo. My favorites were 3806 Gigamesh and 3807 Snaptrax. The track style bots seemed easier to control. Be sure to review your PC compatibility first. From lego.com: "Minimum System Requirements: (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Gigamesh and Snaptrax have fewer parts but can handle some pretty rough terrain. Shadowstrike and Technojaw have more steps and a really cool secondary motion on the "hands" on either side of the bot. They're all pretty cool, but I'd try (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

It won't run at all--I try opening Spybotics, the screen goes black for a sec, then crashes back to desktop. But my Win98 system (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Yeah, my computor is a Pentium 3, 11 Gigabites hard drive, etc. Only, how do I figure out if my computor has a serial port, without hauling the computor from its corner and unwiring it? -JHK -P.S this is, as far as I can tell, the first 'fan' (...) (...) If it's a desktop machine, you most likely have COM port. The question is, do you have a *free* port available. Have a look at the back of your PC and look for a DB9 or DB25 male connector (with pins). It may be labeled IOIO. -Rob. (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)
