| | Hello folks, Could you help me out with this question? I'm wanting to update the RIS firmware to the new frm0328.lgo file which I downloaded through the beta SDK zip file. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to Mindstorms and not quite sure how to (...) (23 years ago, 29-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | Hi Andreas, (...) No idea ! Did you try to set the tower to short range? Did you try to download it with standard RIS software ? Did you try firmware.exe from the SDK ? (...) No, should be the same file. (...) (23 years ago, 29-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | I would check to see if you have a good download. My copy, which works, shows a size of 68,644 bytes. If your copy differs or even if it doesn.t I would try a fresh download. -- Rich Clemens clemens@wvwc.edu ----- Original Message ----- From: (...) (23 years ago, 29-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | | What are the major differences between the 1.5 version and the 2.0 versions of the Mindstorm? Reason I ask is because I see that there are upgrades available to bring the 1.5 version up to 2.0 which, when combined with the lower prices that can be (...) AFAIK, RIS 2.0 has... * A few extra/different parts (but nothing significant I think). * New software (but you can download that from the Lego web site as the beta version). * The tower is a new design. It's interfaced via the USB port rather (...) (23 years ago, 30-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | | | Hi The 2.0 MS software is probably more than just the firmware? For people coding in NQC etc, firmware may be all that matters, but for those of us who (also) use the Lego application, a new version with new featueres may be worth it. I dont think (...) | | | | (...) What version of RcxCC and/or NQC are you using? Old versions had trouble with the larger firmware files (such as firm0328.lgo). Grab the latest version of RcxCC (now called BricxCC) from (URL) or alternatively you can just replace the nqc.exe (...) (23 years ago, 30-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)
