Those sound like they might be firmware files. NQC expects the firmware
to be in S-record format. Do all the lines begin with an upper case S
and then have lots of hex digits? If so, they are probably firmware
files. I'm not sure why there are two of them, unless one is the
original firmware and the other is the 2.0 firmware.
If the second to last line of the file starts with S113BFF0 then its
probably the 1.0 firmware (official version 3.09). 2.0 firmware
(versions 3.2x) are larger and the second to last line will probably
start with something like S113E.
If you download the file to the RCX with NQC, it will then reset the RCX
and report the firmware version to you.

| Hi, you can see the firmware version of the file just b_e_f_o_r_e you load it into the RCX. This would spend a lot of time because every firmware download needs more than 4 minutes with normal download speed. In the newer versions the firmware (...) (23 years ago, 9-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)
